Shaun K Anderson
Shaun brings something essential to what is quickly becoming a tame and monotonous ‘rival’ of folk/country (which seemed to be going fine without). His latest, The Stand Sure Oak is a powerful offering, even if it only leaves you wanting more. The five tracks have the sound of long years, age beyond the few he has accrued. Mature. Tonally rich, giving voice to new sounds, but not without the tradition that gives the lone man with his guitar the timeless honesty people are always looking for. His voice carries an unspoken strength, without the unnecessary and posed fragility of many of his contemporaries.
